LDA’s Newest Associate

Bruce brings to his new role as an Associate over Forty years of Architectural and Construction experience.  Bruce will be playing a more prominent role in shaping the technical documentation direction and quality control within the firm.  His extensive knowledge of Architecture and Construction practices, along with his commitment, integrity, and attention to detail create value for the firm and our clientele.  Bruce will further strengthen LDA’s reputation for providing high quality service.

Bruce had an interest in Architecture from a young age.  He began his career in 1977 by obtaining a position at a well-known retail architectural firm here in Los Angeles.  He worked his way up through the ranks to a project management position.  In 1989 he became a California licensed Architect, at an early age.  Bruce was the lead Architect for the design build team that J.C. Penney utilized when they were utilizing that delivery methodology.  In the late nineties Bruce decided to further his knowledge of construction by obtaining a position working directly for a contracting firm.  Bruce has been involved in specialty retail, regional malls, community centers, office, industrial, as well as theaters and mixed use projects from both the architectural and construction side of the business.

Bruce joined the LDA design group team in 2002, where he soon established himself as an integral part of the firm.  Since joining the team, Bruce has been the Project Architect on a number of our most prominent projects.  Bruce led the team for the historic renovation of the Meier & Frank department store in downtown Portland, Oregon.  The project included renovation of 400,000 square feet of retail space on six levels, coordinating the renovation of the upper ten floors of the building for a boutique hotel above the retail space as well as a complete seismic upgrade of the 1907 structure and historic terracotta façade.

Bruce led LDA’s design team on a number of “firsts” for H&M.  He was the Architect for H&M at the Forum Shops, which was their first Flagship store in Las Vegas.  At the time that it was built, it was the largest H&M in the world.  Bruce was also the Architect for their first store in Hawaii, and for the first COS store that opened in the United States.

As a part of the LDA design group family, Bruce has been the Architect on a diverse portfolio of work including stores for, H&M, COS, &Other Stories, Robinsons-May, Meier & Frank, Macy’s, as well as industrial facilities for Senior Aerospace.  He is currently working with Seritage on one of their premier locations here in Southern California.
